It's important to have everything you need to keep your Roborovski's happy and enemy free! Here are a few cages I have designed myself, each working very successfully.
If you have a Robo living on his or her own, the layout is pretty simple. A cage size of at least 30x30x30cm big, preferably solid plastic or glass walls with an open top if very high, or a simple barred top. If you wish to get a barred cage I would check the distance between each wire thread. Anything more than 1cm will almost guarantee an escapee event later on. Roterstak for example is in this "no go" cage type.
Check list:
Water bottle
Food bowl and food
House
Hollow Log (Gnawing and activity)
Wheel
Wood shaving (Not sawdust)
Chinchilla sand (If wanted)
Mineral/Salt Licks (If wanted)
If you're keeping two to four Robo's together, things may need to be doubled, but is not always the case. A cage size of at least 70x30x30cm is required. A platform covering ⅓ of the cage length is ideal for extra space and activity. Yet again, a solid walled cage is preferably better.
