Before you commit to breeding, you should have a really good think about it before you get rushed away by all the excitement. Click on the FAQ's page to view questions and answers about all the possibilities of breeding. Other than that, breeding is fairly simple! Yey!
When you put the female in the male’s cage, mating will take place within the first 4 days theoretically. The female goes into an "Oestrus" cycle every 4 days. She will remain fertile for about 12 hours give or take within those 4 days.
In the wild they would generally breed between April and September when the weather is at its best. But in captivity, temperature changes mildly due to room temperature, so they should breed when ever you wish them to.
Best time to breed:
If you have a young Roborovski and wish to breed her, wait until she is at least 4 months of age, and male being at least 3 months of age. Though they may reach sexual maturity at 5 weeks, it's ideal to wait till they are older before you breed them.
Like humans, males may remain fertile through out their lives, where as the female would generally become sterile later on in her life, usually around 24 months of age.
Gestation Period:
Pregnancy lasts between 22-26 days. Her litter size will be between 3-8 give or take (The less number of babies, the healthier they'll be).
